I can’t get the image of her out of my head...!!

I can’t get the image of her out of my head!!
Franshela Vaz a third standard child- barely an eight year old girl - went missing on Monday 29th June 2015 evening from her society premises just after her school bus dropped her in the evening. Her mother Sarli Vaz had been through a surgery. So those days she wasn’t able to collect her daughter from the bus stop. However as there were other four students from the same society who also study in the same school and travel by the same bus, so it was never difficult for the little Franshela to come home once she was dropped at the society gate.
But that ill-fated day, when she didn’t come around 6.30 pm, she called up the Bus driver and discovers that she was already dropped.  She smelled something foul and immediately started a frantic search around the society followed by a FIR after few hours. As she was from the same school where my son also studies, so all my WhatsAap group was flooded with messages “fake and real” about every update about the incident.
It was really a horrible time going through messages with pounding heart beats expecting a good news that “she got back to her mother’s lap”.
 But did it ever happen….
The police, the school administration, the family members, the crime branch and some other parents did a wild search for her taking every minute detail into account. Prayers and wishes were all through this search like that of crazy rain that flooded Mumbai few days back... Honestly I even checked up my whatsaap message at every single beep of message alert at any point of time even in the mid of the night …expecting something good.
But all our prayers fall short…I guess or the heavy rains cruelly washed them away... The Good God was not so kind that day perhaps...
On Friday, 3rd July, 2015 (aftyer 5 days of her gone missing) her semi decomposed body was discovered followed by the arrest of her maternal Uncle Clerence Fonseca who had actually kidnapped and killed her.
Suddenly the heart felt a serious hollow. Shaken to the core… it was so hard to digest the reality. It was purely a revenge killing. As per the report, Franshela Vaz was very fond of Uncle Clarence Fonseca, who is the husband of her mother’s sister. She would often visit his Mira Road residence and spend time with his children. Sarli Vaz and Sophia Fonseca are sisters. The Few months back while The Vazs were at Fonseca’s place for a family get-together; there was a fight among children over toys.  Soon parents got involved in it. Sarli(Mother of Franshela) had a serious argument and exchange of heated words with Clerence that had “sowed the seed of revenge” in him.
That wretched day, when Frenshela was supposed to enter her wing, Uncle Clerence called her up and said her mother was at their place (Mira Road) and he was there to pick her up.
Little Frenshela was no way aware that the death angel had already entered into his Uncle’s body waiting to make her body lifeless. She happily boarded the silver i20 car with brute Uncle at the wheel. After driving for an hour, he chose a lonely place on Gorbandor road (Thane) only to throttle her using polythene bag and then throw her inert body near a nullah. After that while the search operation was going on, he was all there to sympathize her mother.
Anyway, he could not dodge the relentless search operation of Police. Finally he was caught by a CCTV capture in the Airoli Bridge (Little Franshela was sitting in the front seat with Uncle Fonseca at the wheel) and the cell phone location that proved that he was around the society at that time when little Franshela went missing…neurotic day.
I know, it is not a first incident of its kind. But we human have an amazing feeling system. Till our own relatives or surrounding is not subjected to a heartless incident, we don’t’ feel the seriousness of the reality and pain. I was almost broken. Not me only…in fact it had sent a shock wave in the Navi Mumbai itself.
This incident again raised the question how safe our children are. According to a report, the most dangerous crime faced by children is from their known and own people only. Most of the time, it is the people who are known to the children win their confidence easily making them vulnerable to be subjected to heinous crimes. As a mother, I really wander how to save my child from such known perpetrators and invisible beasts. Amidst the funeral meet and candle March as a disturbed mother I’m really vexed and bothered how to teach my son that other than his mom and dad, none can be trusted in this world!!!
Franshela With Her Brute Uncle (CCTV capture image)
The CCTV captured image of Franshela (which are also her last picture before Destiny took her) with her Monster Uncle are something still alive in my head. I just can’t get that image out of my mind...
Whenever I see a child with an adult, that particular image becomes active and afresh and makes me suspicion. My heart starts pounding thinking…if the child is with the safe person or not. Most of the time they are with their parents, but looking at them I start doubting. Sometime it makes me feel like asking them…is he/she your parent…who knows another Franshela is not with another predator…
Because I just can’t get that particular image out of my mind…I guess!!!

LONELINESS KNOWS MY NAME

LONELINESS KNOWS MY NAME
Loneliness knows my name
It’s always there when I look for a friend

Loneliness knows the whole lot
That I keep inside my locker of heart
My endless thoughts in the noisy days
And infinite self- talks in the stillness of the dark

It's the one who makes me see
That I can a make a change in me
It always chooses nobody else but me
And Gives a mysterious strength within

Loneliness know my name!
Loneliness is my best friend!!

There is always a profound beauty in Loneliness
As it’s the way to realize the divinity around us
To cherish the sunshine standing alone in front of the Sun!!
The world seems to be a treasure when I’m alone!!

IT DOESN'T TAKE PLANS TO CLAP YOUR HANDS!!!!

IT DOESN'T TAKE PLANS TO CLAP YOUR HANDS!!!!

11th Aug - 18th Aug
It’s an incident that happened few years back. We’re standing on the railway station of Cuttack to catch Rajadhani Express (as we were staying in Delhi that time) when a little boy came to me asking for some money (a usual scene in every railway station).

As I was about to look for some change (coins) in my bag, my son ( around five years  that time) suddenly gave his Cadburys Celebration Pack to that boy (who seemed to be of the same age) that was gifted to him by his cousins.

Obviously the boy was very happy. What surprised me more...?

In our every trip to our hometown my son gets many gifts from his cousins and our family members. In That trip also he had so many gifts from all the relatives and he handed me everything to keep except that Chocolate Pack as he liked it most(obviously). Even when I asked to hold that pack as it was big for him, he didn’t allow me.

What made him to give that Cadbury pack to that boy!!!....  Is still a mystery to me?

After that I observed both had started playing Hide n Seek as my son was trying to hide himself around me. Both of them were having laughter in their faces.

In the mean time our train reached the station and we boarded it quickly as it halts for few minutes…while my son was throwing tantrums to say Goodbye to that boy. It wasn’t possible or I may say was not necessary for us.

But when we occupied our berth my son looked from the window glass and started waving his hand to that boy while I noticed the boy outside was looking bewilder into the tinted glasses to get a glimpse of my son (which was not possible for him from outside to see into inside).

The bewilder eyes stuck me!!! Is there any difference in his eyes and the eyes of my son??? Not at all…..

The difference lies in “my eyes”. May be for that reason when I saw him… I saw the rags, the untidy face and the uncared body and felt sympathetic while my son saw his own image (child) in him and felt loving. A child has an eye to see the human beyond the differences!!
That was sufficient to stir me…

All humans born as child whether die old or not. Childhood is the perfect bliss and everybody is equally given that opportunity by Almighty. It’s the source of infinite love, symbol of truth, innocence and simplicity.

There always lives a child in us. With the passage of time we develop the bars of differences and hatred that imprisons it. We forget to love which is our natural nature.....thereby forget the child in us. More or less we live a life of “copy and paste” rather than a Natural One.

May be….. That’s the reason why we don’t easily clap when we feel nice as that of a child.
But it doesn’t take plans to clap our hands…just a brief look into the eyes of a child around us…. will be sufficient to see our own true image... the child in us that’ll automatically make our hands clap...

To be honest at that point I had never taught my son to do such acts....he was very small. The only thing is I learnt it from my son see our own image in every individual without any barrier of differences...

Time Machine, Blue Sofa and a Diary!!!

I was deep asleep when I heard a knock
With the first impulse suddenly I woke up
I saw a Person standing before me,
Encircled by a magic aura surrounding him

I couldn’t believe my eyes what I saw before me
He was non-other than My Hero – Sir Dr.Kalam!!
He smiled at my baffled lexis, disbelief and confusion looks
Waved his Hands to calm my commotions, qualms and doubts

That worked like Magic and in a jiffy I became Normal
Without losing a moment to be ceremonial or formal
I said, “Sir, it’s a life’s Best Gift that I saw you in person”
“I’m elated thrilled euphoric and in seven heaven”

With the utter of “Heaven” I stopped for a moment
Looked at Him to stare at his Angelic Face
“Sir, you must have landed in Paradise to meet God”
“Have you brought any message for me from the heaven above?”

His mysterious smile became little wider on his face
From somewhere he gave me “a device”… I guess
“Switch it on…it’s the Time Machine” He said in a saintly tone
As a robot I followed his lucid and persuasive instructions

Within moments I was sailing in the space
With moon, planets and Stars…dreamland I felt!!!
I gazed amazed at my adorable earth
“Isn’t is like a revolving velvet Blue Sofa”...He asked

“Yes it is!! I said in an astonished voice
Incredible…!!! I’m living in such a gorgeous place!!!
“Yes dear…It’s the truth and I’m here to remind
The message Of God to You and Mankind

To inhabit in this silky Blue Sofa you have been sent
With Life as Diary and You Yourself Being the Pen
To inscribe the symphony of Good deeds
Page after page…
To engrave your name in every heart
With Love and....not hatred!!

I was almost motionless and speechless
Someone shook me brazenly …I guess
As I opened my Eyes…I saw a friendship band
My Best Friend Rachana.. was standing there holding it in hand

Looking mischievously at me…she said
Come out of dream My dear…and happy friendship day!!
I saw I was lying in my couch with my Dairy by side
Torn pages in the floor and my Pen was open beside

My Planet is the revolving velvety blue Sofa
Life is the Diary and I myself Being The Pen
I have to write the ode of Love in every heart
If I wish to go to meet my Divine God in heaven!!!

Kumbha Mela: The Celestial Carnival Of Divinity And Faith!!!

There is Nothing In The Outside World That is Not In Inside!!!
I have already written about my perception and understanding of Kumbha Mela before though I have never been to it so far. But I must say that was how I felt about KumbhaMela till last Sunday.
On Sunday (26th July 2015) I had an opportunity to attend the screening of “Conversation at Kumbha Mela” – a documentary film on Kumbha Mela at Allahbad in 2013 at Nehru Centre, Worli - prepared and organized by Anugraha.
It was truly amazing. I had never thought the feeling would be so different. I had my own observation about Kumbha Mela. But the documentary is really instructive, informative and  enlightening!!
Any spiritual or religious venture has its foundation on FAITH. It begins with Faith and ends in Faith as well. So also the mystifying Kumbha Mela.

I knew that Kumbha Mela is known as “the world's most massive act of faith” but the question never arrived in my mind was how was it possible. I mean what short of power of magnetism the “Mysterious Kumbha” has that draws millions and millions of people who arrive there boarding overcrowded buses, trains or any means of transport with meager belongings and heavy bundles to settle for few days of life in any corner of the holy land, only to assimilate themselves in “ocean of humans” and to take a dip in the holy rivers.
No advertisement, no grand preparation by the administrative bodies, no sufficiency of hygiene and sanitation, no availability of proper medications in case of a major health break up, also not enough security and safety  and no luxury of life. Still the Kumbha Mela gathers human droplets to form an oceanic sight.  The magical automation of life inside the Kumbha Mela would leave you astounded while looking at the human veritable river with wave after wave that flows onto the banks of the river and assimilate in it.
With what looks to be “not so equipped and resourced” administrative authorities to monitor the “largest congregation of religious gathering in the World” makes Kumbha Mela not less than a “spiritual adventure” of its kind.

Is that only faith!! Or an invisible blanket of a celestial power that makes such a grand divine event possible!! I think here it narrows the crevice between the Theist – Believer of God and Atheist – Non believer of God.
Kumbha Mela is of course the holiest religious Pilgrimage for the Hindus. And Pilgrimage is essentially a part of every religion. But what boggles the mind is the “the colossal number of devotee” who come to this sanctified event with such an incredible faith. Faith forms the most significant force that makes Kumbha Mela possible. "The unwavering conviction, faith and trust in something sublime, something uplifting" might be the boosting force behind such a gathering...!!!
It is the power of faith that can part a river, move mountains, and endure the hardships that come bundled up for being an integral part of Kumbh Mela, a congregation of millions, gathered together to be freed from the vicious earthly cycle of life and death and move towards a heavenly realm, which knows no suffering or pain.
It's the mythological history of India and the sacred religious texts that bind us carnal souls to an eternal hope - things will be better, without the ever-imminent fear of them getting worse that cripples us here.
"An eternal life free of sins" is the promise that comes attached with the magnificent event of Kumbh Mela. It's a promise to which millions want to be bound with, and it is this promise that has made Kumbh Mela what it is today.

No matter what attracts people to this gathering. It could be just Faith to submit oneself to the mystery of Kumbha or the Curiosity to explore the spirit of jamboree. In any case one learns the best lessons of “essence of Human life”.
Being a droplet in the Human Ocean makes one to realize the tiny existence of oneself in the Universe. That takes away the ego, pride and superciliousness and arrogance….the evils of human life.
I learnt about something very interesting is the “Kinchit daan” (little charity) that is performed here by the devotees where people do charity in the form of various food materials like rice, pulses, vegetables… etc and other things as well.
The symbolic meaning of “Kinchit Daan” is no matter how much material wealth one acquires, it would always remain kinchit (small). One who doise a charity of one ruee and one who dose a charity of 1 billion…both are said as “kinchit”. The lesson is “charity is a responsibility”.
Total submission before the divinity, altruistic and selfless service to the mankind and being in UNITY among the souls….that enlightens the human life. It brings peace, balance and happiness in life. That is the most spiritual take away from Kumbha Mela.

May be that is why Kumbha Mela itself is  termed as the “University of spirituality” that opens for about two months in one place in every twelve year.
